The Suzuki Cappuccino is a Japanese, subcompact sport “kei car” beloved and praised by enthusiasts across the globe. Equipped from the factory with a 660cc turbocharged engine, close ratio 5 speed manual transmission, and remarkably nimble handling characteristics, the Cappuccino is one of the most capable performers we’ve seen from a kei car chassis. Originally designed for the Japanese market, the Cappuccino’s small stature was great for navigating tight mountain roads and city streets, making it a great, fuel efficient choice for weekday commutes or weekend cruises. While the car is certainly impressive in its stock form, car enthusiasts quickly saw the potential in the “EA11R” Cappuccino platform and sought to find ways to improve the vehicles performance. This particular Cappuccino, offered for sale here at J-Spec Auto Sports Inc, is an example of the EA11R chassis taken to the max. There isn’t an inch of this pint size performer that hasn’t been touched, and it’s truly one of the most impressive kei cars we’ve ever seen. This Cappuccino reportedly has 7 MILLION yen invested into the build, presumably with the vehicle price included and is pumping out a reported 260hp to the wheels (we will update the listing with up to date numbers when the car has hit the dyno). In a car that weighs 1,598 lbs, and only made 64hp from factory, this figure is quite impressive to say the least. Upon first glance of this Cappuccino, you immediately notice the beautiful and extensive bodywork performed to make this thing one of a kind. Finished in a beautiful coat of original Dark Green Metallic paint, this car has just received a full show-ready detail and is ready to show off! Notable pieces on the exterior include Suzuki Sport front and rear bumpers, Heartland side skirts, and custom one-off FRP fender flares, and FRP hood. Craftsmanship on the bodywork is excellent, and it’s evident that this Cappuccino turns heads wherever it goes. Rounding off the exterior modifications are front and rear eyelids, and a stunning set of staggered 14” SSR Longchamp XR4 wheels. The interior is in great shape as well, and although it has been modified, all modifications are professionally done and completely in line with the stylistic cues of the OEM interior. The factory leather seats are in great shape, with no rips, tears, stains, or bolster wear. The crack-prone dash is free of any damage, and all original buttons and switches work as expected. Being that this car was modified for performance, a fair number of gauges have been added to monitor engine vitals during a drive. Four 46mm Omori gauges have been custom integrated into the OEM dash panel and display voltage, oil pressure, oil temperature, and water temperature, respectively. Below these four gauges lies a custom installation in the factory glovebox, consisting of a Greddy Air Fuel gauge, Greddy fuel pressure gauge, and a Blitz boost controller and turbo timer. Lastly, Omori Exhaust Temp and Boost gauges sit just above the shifter. Some gauges are non-functioning, and we plan to have them all fully functional before sale. A clean, wood-trimmed Nardi steering wheel feels great and looks like it should have came in the car from the factory. The factory gauge cluster is simple and displays just 16,712 original km’s. Did we mention the car has only 16k VERIFIED kilometres? With 7,000 of those being added since the build, it’s clear to see this Cappuccino was someone’s pride and joy, taken out only for the occasional spirited drive. Pop the hood, turn the key, and the 660cc 3 cylinder engine springs to life. Under-hood modification is extensive, and there is an incredible amount of custom work performed to make this car hit an impressive horsepower goal. The turbo has been upgraded to a larger IHI unit, fed by a custom cold air intake. The intercooler consists of a trust core with custom routed HKS piping, which is paired to a quality aftermarket blow off valve. The exhaust is completely custom as well from the header back! A K-CarSport 0-100 Muffler II rounds off the back half of the exhaust system and sounds insane under full throttle. Fueling has been fully upgraded, and injectors have been sized up to 295cc. Even the intake manifold is custom, check out those welds! Records from Japan show the engine has been fully serviced and rebuilt. While we don’t have complete details on the build, all the work is certainly stout and professionally done. All cooling hoses have been upgraded to custom stainless braided units, and a Greddy Emanage ECU controls the whole show. The drivetrain has been fully attended to as well. The car darts around corners with ease, thanks to a set of like-new Circuit Spec Tune coilovers and Suzuki Sport 2 way LSD. A short throw shifter ensures that all shifts through the 5 speed manual are quick and precise. An extensive test drive of the car proved that this cappuccino loves to be driven at its limits.
