It’s no secret that Americans love their cars, and use them until they run into the ground. We have a huge continent to explore, large high speed interstates, and climates ranging from ice cold to near tropical. So when you scour craigslist or facebook marketplace for a reasonably priced older vehicle, it typically comes with its fair share of imperfections, rust, or mechanical issues. Japan is about the size of California, and cars driven there see very little use, and are maintained religiously due to regulations required by their strict “Shaken” inspection. When a car like this 1992 EG8 Honda Civic Ferio comes up for sale, we jump on it. Not only is it an excellent example of one of Honda’s most beloved Civic chassis, it is also a killer daily driver for anyone looking for a mail route car, or reliable commuter without any of the frills of a newer model. This Civic Ferio, optioned in MX trim, came over from japan with only 37,559 original kilometres (23,338 miles)! This was clearly someone’s pride and joy, as every inch of this car is spotless. The exterior of this car looks to have been preserved in a time capsule. The original frost white paint is free of any clear coat fade, pitting, or flaking. Being a white car, there are some slight dirt stains on the trunk that should come out easy with a good paint correction. Exterior styling is plain, but undoubtedly iconic. The smooth factory body lines of the EG sedan just look that good. The black exterior trim is in great condition, and the OEM rain guards are still in tact as well! We have added a set of aftermarket RAZO wheels to compliment the exterior, however the original steelies and directional hubcaps will be included with the sale if the buyer chooses to go back to a more stock appearance. Just like the outside, the interior is immaculate in every sense of the word. The factory multicolor cloth seats are snug and look 90’s cool with the integrated headrests. Both the front and rear seats are free of any rips, tears, or stains, and it’s evident this car was never smoked in either. This Ferio was likely used as a small town commuter and stored outside of direct sunlight. The only upgrade to the interior is a period correct Panasonic stereo system with OEM gathers speakers. Those looking to use this Civic as a daily driver will be pleased to notice that, even for a 93, it was equipped with a decent list of creature comforts, including functional automatic Air Conditioning, power windows, locks, and mirrors. Pop the hood and the D15B engine shines in all its glory. While you won’t be breaking any performance records with this dual-carbureted setup, you will likely be getting better gas mileage than most other vehicles on the road. Paired to a smooth shifting 5 speed manual transmission, this is the optimal Civic to buy if driver involvement and fuel economy is your thing. With such low miles, it’s no surprise that this car drives great, and doesn’t feel down on power one bit! The suspension is still responsive and doesn’t feel tired, and all oils and fluids seem to have been maintained religiously by the previous owner. This is a cream puff Civic that looks to be fresh off of a 1992 Honda showroom floor. If you’re looking for a faithful daily driver with a bit of quirky, right hand drive flair, this Ferio is one Civic you won’t find anywhere else.
