Efini Mazda RX7 Type RS:

The Mazda RX-7 is a sports car that was produced by the Japanese automaker Mazda from 1978 to 2002. The Type RS FD3S RX-7 is a specific model of the RX-7 that was produced from 1992 to 2002. The Type RS FD3S RX-7 is powered by a 1.3-liter twin-turbocharged rotary engine the legendary 13B, which produces 276 horsepower and 217 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and puts power down to the rear wheels. The Type RS FD3S RX-7 also features a limited-slip differential and a sport-tuned suspension. The Type RS FD3S RX-7 has a sleek and aerodynamic design, with a low stance and a wide body. It also features pop-up headlights and a rear spoiler. The car has a curb weight of 2,800 pounds, which makes it lightweight and nimble. The Type RS FD3S RX-7 was widely acclaimed for its handling and performance, and it was considered one of the best sports cars of its time. Despite this, the car was not widely exported outside of Japan, which makes it a relatively rare find on the used car market. This car is a cult classic, and this pristine example is no exception. This 1997 Mazda RX7 FD3S Type RS “Efini” comes finished in its factory Chaste White (paint code PT). Wrapped around the exterior is an aftermarket Lip Kit, which we assume may be something similar to a FRP Uras kit. Connected to the road are a set of 17 inch Rays Bram Lights wheels in a gunmetal-silver duotone, and suited up with a brand new set of Nitto sports tires. The exterior has nearly no imperfections, with the only subjects of critique being some minor scuffs on the front lip, and a superficial scratch on the rear taillight that does not break the surface. Underneath is incredibly clean as well, with no signs of rust or wear! The interior is in similarly fantastic condition. Black Suede cloth seats still have strong bolstering and very little signs of wear. Interior trim pieces tell the same story. An upgraded Pioneer Carozzeria DEH770 head unit is a nice addition, and fits nicely in the OEM radio slot. The RX7 scuff guard that sits atop the doorsill on the drivers side has done its job well over the past 25 or so years, and has definitely saved the bumper beneath it. What makes these RX7’s so special was their Rotary powered 13B twin turbo 1.3L engine, and this one still runs fantastic. Service record stickers inside the door tell us this car was well maintained which is good to see from such a unique powertrain. This RX7 also only has 71,181 verified kilometers, translating to 44,229 miles! The only modifications to note in terms of performance on this FD are a steering column mounted HKS boost Gauge, a Carbon Fiber intake manifold, and by far the most special modification on this FD… a set of Ohlins coilovers. These coilovers are a rare and very high end modification, and they’re considered one of the staples of the highest end when it comes to coilovers and aftermarket performance. To complement the high quality of this RX7 is an extensive service history that goes from 2005 all the way to 2020, which is a very good thing you want to see specifically when it comes to Rotary vehicles. This FD RX7 is a very clean and increasingly rare icon, and having an example like this one in the states is exciting to see while we still have the chance!
