Before installing Item 45944, thoroughly flush the transmission cooler and cooler lines. A failed transmission can leave contaminated ATF, clutch material and metal particles in the cooling circuit.

Inspect accessible seals while the replacement transmission is outside the vehicle, including the torque-converter/front seal and axle seals.

Verify whether the torque converter is included with this exact unit. If included, compare its configuration with the original converter.

Most importantly, fully seat the torque converter into the transmission before mating the transmission to the engine. Never use bellhousing bolts to force the transmission and engine together.

After installation, fill the transmission with the correct Honda ATF and verify the fluid level according to the applicable Honda service procedure.

Scan the vehicle for transmission-related DTCs and perform applicable reset or learning procedures.
