Many of the R32 Nissan Skyline GTR’s in our collection here are well preserved, time-capsule models, that are intended for use as seldom driven collector cars. One would almost feel guilty about using one of these models as a dedicated track car, every day driver, or weekend warrior, as values seem to keep rising higher and higher. However, behind the GTR’s iconic status lies a raw and exhilarating performance car, with gobs of power, torque, and ahead-of-their-time technological features. Nissan’s “Godzilla” was meant to be driven, and this particular example is a well modified, no-excuses monster. The exterior was resprayed in Japan in a bright red finish, meaning the next owner won’t feel guilty about getting bugs and debris on the original paint. This was a professionally done job, covering all body panels and the door jambs. The only area that was left alone is the engine bay, which shows evidence of the car’s original coat of KL0 Silver metallic. The factory front bumper was modified with a NISMO N1 Style unit, a must for allowing increased flow to the front mount intercooler. The rear wing was removed off the trunk and professionally shaved. A trunk lip was added to subtly accentuate the smooth body lines of the rear of the car. Last but not least, a set of matte black 7 spoke wheels add an aggressive touch to an already intimidating exterior. The interior has been well outfitted with top of the line aftermarket parts to give the driver a one of a kind experience. The driver’s seat has been swapped to a reclinable bride unit, and the passenger gets to sit in style in a Recaro SR3 Confetti! The stock steering wheel has been replaced with a JDM Sprint Racing wheel. An HKS electronic boost controller and Defi electronic boost gauge allows the driver to monitor the turbocharger in real time, and adjust the driving experience on the fly. The rest of the interior is in exceptional shape for its age. The dash shows no signs of cracking or fading, and all interior panels are clean and free of nicks and dings. The RB26 fires right up and pulls strong all the way to redline! Shifts through the getrag 5 speed are smooth and precise, and a set of Tein coilovers keeps the car planted to the ground as it dives in and out of the twisties. The intoxicating straight six engine note is accentuated by a pair of twin HKS intakes and an N1 style exhaust. You’ll fall in love as soon as you put the foot to the floor.
