Up for sale is an incredibly clean example of the legendary Nissan R32 Skyline GTR. What is there to say about the GTR that hasn’t already been said? There’s certainly a reason why the GTR name carries such prestige. It’s a record shattering, ferocious, twin turbo beast that was more refined and well-built than the Ferrari’s and Lamborghini’s of its day. Get behind the wheel, put your foot to the floor, and you’ll soon realize that nothing comes remotely close to the exhilaration of driving this car at 100 percent. The GTR has an excellent reputation as a no-holds-barred street car, and this particular example does a pretty good job of maintaining it. The exterior is finished in a beautiful 732 Black Pearl Metallic. The previous owner made the choice to keep the exterior in its stock form, with the exception of a NISMO style front lip. Since R32’s had issues with front lift, the lip serves as a suitable performance upgrade. We have performed a complete clear coat correction on this vehicle in order to bring out the shine of the Black Pearl paint. We would recommend getting the vehicle ceramic coated to best preserve the original finish. If you thought the exterior was good, the interior is in even better shape. It’s amazing how well this car has been preserved since it rolled off the assembly line in 1989! At some point, the previous owner installed an aftermarket Tomei speedometer conversion into the factory gauge cluster, raising the speedo’s limit from 180 to 310 kilometers per hour. The mileage was not altered during this time. We have done no restoration work to the interior, it’s honestly that good. The only concern may be a slight bubble starting to form on the dash, but that is easy to remedy. Now onto the engine. Turn the key and the stout RB26DETT engine sings from under the hood. Factory rated, the RB26 claims to make only 276 horsepower, but multiple dyno sessions from GTR owners claim that these numbers are closer to the 330 range. We have performed a full tune up on this vehicle to make sure that it’s running it’s best for the next owner! The previous owner outfitted this RB26 with gold powdercoated M’s Intakes, and a Kakimoto exhaust to bring out the sinister R32 sound. Aside from these mods the engine does not look to have been upgraded any further. The 5 speed GETRAG transmission shifts smoothly, and power is delivered to all four wheels via an aftermarket clutch that holds strong all the way to redline. Corner coming up? That’s no problem thanks to the addition of HKS coilovers and SPATS strut bars! This thing can dive into a corner and rely on the ATESSA all wheel drive system to maintain traction. The rubber is good on all four forged wheels. This is an excellent example of a first year GTR, and it’s ready to be your next garage queen or track toy!
