Vehicle History
The JZA80 Mk4 Supra is one of the most timeless JDM sports cars of all time. Its iconic appearance, characterized by smooth, seamless body lines, and legendary 2JZ Twin Turbo powerplant made the MK4 a legendary sports car that could drive comfortably to the drag strip, put down a competitive quarter mile time, and drive home without any issue. With stories of the famed 2JZ having the ability to hold close to 600 horsepower or more on the stock block, as well as a hearty endorsement in “The Fast and The Furious”, the Mk4 quickly caught the attention of aftermarket companies looking to add their own personal touch to an already superb chassis. A multitude of unique, aftermarket body kits, suspension options, and engine performance parts seemed to hit the market overnight in Japan, and owners began modifying the JZA80 chassis as a unique reflection of their own personal style. This Hardtop 1993 model year Toyota Supra GZ is an excellent, tastefully modified example of a truly iconic chassis. The exterior of this Supra is stunning without being too over the top. Finished in a fresh coat of Toyota 202 Black Onyx, this Mk4 is truly a looker. The front fascia is defined by a sleek Border Racing front bumper, which flows beautifully with the stock body lines. OEM 98 spec black housing headlights and taillights flawlessly tie into the factory black paint job. For a 28 year old vehicle, the interior is in fantastic condition. This may be due to the fact that this Supra has managed to rack up only 63,802 km’s over the years (39k VERIFIED miles!). The upholstery on the retro OEM cloth power seats is in great shape, with no rips, tears or major bolster wear. The Supra has always been known for its driver-centric “cockpit” style dash. Take one seat in the driver’s seat and you’ll be hooked. The dash and other materials uphold that same quality you’ve come to expect from Toyota. While there are some small defects as a result of prior modification and age, the interior is in overall good shape and all buttons and switches work as expected. A few aftermarket gauges have been added to help monitor necessary engine vitals. A blitz boost gauge sits atop the A pillar and is fully functional, and an aftermarket triple pod displays water temp, oil temp, and oil pressure. The aftermarket water temp gauge is non-functional, but the OEM unit in the gauge cluster works perfectly fine. Pop the hood and you’ll see that the 2JZ-GTE engine is mostly stock, with only a couple bolt on modifications present. An HKS intake, charge pipe, and Super Sound blow off valve allow for increased airflow in and out of the turbocharger and significantly improve driving dynamics over stock. The suspension has been fully taken care of, thanks to a set of top of the line Aragosta coilovers, perfectly spec’d for performance or track driving. Driving this Supra is an experience in itself. Turn the key, and the 2JZ roars to life. Although this model is equipped with the less involved automatic transmission, shifts are smooth and the auto ensures that boost isn’t lost between gears. For a larger vehicle, this Supra has no problem being nimble in and out of corners. We have fully addressed maintenance on this Supra for the next owner, a fresh oil change, coolant flush, and brand new timing belt kit ensure that this beast is safe and ready for many miles on the road ahead. If you’re looking for an excellent performance bargain, this automatic Supra may be your best bet, as manual examples of this vehicle are rising rapidly in price and assuming a “collector car only” status. This example is set up well to accommodate a 6 speed swap in the future, or to drive as a turn-key 90’s beast that will hold its value for years to come.
