The JZA80 Mk4 Toyota Supra has an indistinguishable look that nearly everyone recognizes. What started out as an attempt by Toyota engineers to merge luxury touring car amenities with raw street car drivability has turned into the legend we all know today. “Is that a Supra?” has been the rallying cry of this current generation of JDM car enthusiasts, and this legendary sports coupe is known around the globe as an unbeatable monster. We’re here to tell you that yes, this is a Supra, and a clean, lightly modified one at that. Spec’d from the factory in SZ trim, the standard equipment on this 1993 model year Supra included a reliable, naturally aspirated 3.0l 2JZ-GE engine and a 5 speed manual transmission. While this is not the same notorious 2JZ-GTE and 6 speed setup featured on the Supra turbo, the NA 2JZ still accelerates smoothly and is quite good on fuel economy. The 5 speed feels stout and gear changes are smooth and direct. Finished in a fresh coat of Toyota 202 Black Onyx, this Mk4 is truly a looker. The front fascia has been updated with a Series 2 Mk4 front bumper and aftermarket front lip. Veilside side skirts and a Trial rear bumper flow seamlessly with the smooth OEM body lines and make this MKIV a sight to behold. The iconic Supra rear wing is present, and a tasteful set of 20” matte black OX wheels are a perfect complement for this murdered out missile, despite having a little curb rash. For a 28 year old vehicle, the interior is in fantastic condition. This may be due to the fact that this Supra has managed to rack up only 136,260 km over the years (84k verified miles!). The upholstery on the OEM powered leather seats is in good shape, with no major rips or tears. Some light bolster wear is present as shown in the photos. The Supra has always been known for its driver-centric “cockpit” style dash. Take one seat in the driver’s seat and you’ll be hooked. The dash and other materials uphold that same quality you’ve come to expect from Toyota and the materials show no signs of cracking or sun damage. The interior is in overall good shape and all buttons and switches work as expected, down to the climate control with cold AC. Although the car is powered by the lesser of the 2JZ’s, the car is still incredibly well composed when driving. An HKS intake and exhaust add a mild performance upgrade over stock and sound fantastic under hard acceleration. The stock suspension is tuned nicely for the chassis, and is still comfortable enough to endure daily driving use. Overall, if you’re looking for a clean Supra that can still handle daily duty and won’t break the bank, the Supra SZ may be the perfect fit for you.
