Up for sale is this extremely clean example of one of Toyota's most innovative and exhilarating sport coupes, the MR2 GT-S! With only 153,196 km's on the dash (95,000 original miles!), this MR2 is ready for plenty of fun filled miles on US shores. This “SW20” MR2 came equipped from the factory with a mid engine/rear wheel drive layout, which made this tiny Toyota a serious contender against even the most exotic supercars of it’s day, and it still proves to be an incredible performance bargain on both the road and track! 1994 brought about the 3rd revision of the SW20 MR2, which included a power bump to 242 horsepower, major changes to the factory suspension and subtle improvements to both the interior and exterior. Gone are the lift-off oversteer issues that plagued earlier MR2's, this 1994 is the best handling example we've seen yet and it takes even the tightest of hairpins with ease. The exterior is finished in Toyota's Dark Emerald Pearl and really shines thanks to a full paint correction done in house. There appears to have been some paintwork done in the past. This is a factory slicktop MR2 which offers additional chassis stability and weight savings over the T-Top model.The exterior has a few notable upgrades, namely a period correct Bomex front bumper and massive carbon style rear wing. This wing may not be everyone's cup of tea, and we'll gladly remove it at the buyer's discretion. The stock wheels have been removed in favor of a larger set of 5 spoke alloys wrapped in good winter tires. The wheels do a good job at maintaining the stock appearance, and the more aggressive spec helps handling immensely. This 94 MR2 also comes equipped with the stock kouki tail lights! Much like the exterior, the interior is super clean and shows very little signs of wear and tear overall. The sporty factory cloth bucket seats are bolstered well and are free of any rips and tears. The dash is clean with no cracks or bubbles. Overall the cockpit is set up well for any driving, daily or performance. A blue momo commando steering wheel is a worthy upgrade over the stock unit, and a quartet of electronic Greddy gauges monitor oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, and boost. Turn the key and the 3S-GTE cranks over without any hesitation. This particular motor has been kept mostly stock, with the exception of a Apexi Intake. Boost comes on early and holds strong to redline, and shifts through the 5 speed manual transmission are rapid and direct. This thing is a real joy to drive on backroads, highways, and city streets. The powerband offers heaps of torque down low, making the MR2 a perfect choice for autocross racing as well! If you're looking for a do-everything sports coupe that can take on any competition on the road or track, this MR2 is a midship monster perfect for the job.
