Toyota's X90 Chassis was internationally known in the 1990's as the do-it-all luxury sedan. Offered in a broad variety of trims in Japan, the X90 could be spotted everywhere from city streets and highways to mountain touges and race tracks. While the X90 chassis was offered for sale in the USA as the Toyota Cressida, it failed to offer two of the most unique engine options specific to Japan. This particular LX90 Toyota Mark II features one of those engines, the 2.4l 2L-TE Turbo Diesel. Paired to a R151 5 Speed manual transmission, this thing is one seriously cool commuter! The turbo diesel powerplant offers exceptional gas mileage and torque is plentiful. Packing a whopping 96 horsepower, you shouldn't expect to win any races, but the pillow soft suspension and plush interior make this Mark II a dream to drive on even the harshest of city streets. The exterior is finished in a classy champagne finish. The original paint has held up extremely well over the years, and it appears that this Mark II was pampered during its time in Japan. Unlike the more popular twin turbocharged JZX90, the LX90's are less likely to be found with exterior modifications. This Mark II is an excellent example of that as the exterior appears to have been left bone stock over the past 26 years down to the OEM polished wheels. The interior is finished in an iconic 90's brown and loaded with a surprising amount of creature comforts such as automatic climate control and power folding mirrors. With our records showing about 190,008 unverified km's (118k miles) it's not hard to see why the interior of this car is in such great shape! The car appears to have undergone a cluster replacement in the past. Turn the key and the 2L-TE chugs to life! In typical diesel fashion there's a heaping amount of low end torque, which makes for a very enjoyable driving experience! Shifts are smooth through the 5 speed manual transmission and all lights and accessories work as expected.
